Chateau Phelan Segur Vintage 1969Phlan Sgur's history dates back to the late 18th Century, when Tipperary wine merchant Bernard O'Phelan arrived in Bordeaux. After marrying into the renowned Guestier family, he purchased the Saint Estphe properties Clos de Garramey and Sgur de Cabanac in 1805 and 1810, creating Chteau Sgur de Garramey, and built the Palladian chateau which remains there today. The property took on its current name at the start of the 20th Century when it was changed

but for the sweet wines it was a very good vintage

south of the city of Bordeaux

Resolved but will hold another decade or so

Since 1994 this domaine has been run by Jacques son

Rubicon was first made in 1984 and is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux blend and only made in vintages deemed good enough and has been declassified to Merrlust Red in five vintages

Dark purple-amber in color

opens up nicely after a 2 hour decant

St Annaberg is a single vineyard within Herrnsheime in the Pfaiz region of Germany

including several "super tuscans" like Solaia

Hands of Time wines pay tribute to the many hands involved in the art of winemaking

and the cinsault pokes through the large rounded galets
