SOLD…….A lace fan with pearl sticks and hanging loop. 19thcA pretty lace fan with pearl fan sticks decorated with little white flowers with silver and gold inlay. Victorian. One guard has a horizontal break in it which has been supported by a piece of thin wood and then the lace reattached. No damage otherwise. The guard sticks measure 22. 5cm ( 8. 5 inches ) The span is 43cm ( 16. 5 inches ) Stock no. KN05

A rare Tartan Ware miniature knife box for needle packets
The brass is in excellent condition with no missing bits
The embroidery plus its frame measures 7 x 6 inches
No damage to the pearl and all the little loop fastenings are there

The discs are bun shaped with the silk being slotted into the top edge
The steel is marked with a wing and Time which was the logo of Samuel Pearson & Co Sheffield during the period 1856-1907
There is a small dent which could be corrected by a silversmith as it is easily accessible
The ends have the brightest colours remaining- red and green - some polish might bring out the rest but I leave that up to the buyer's choice
The interior is also decorated with strips of straw and the base covered by blue paper
It is one of a group of novelty needle packet boxes produced by William Avery of Redditch in the 19th century
