Fin-Nor No. 3 Direct Drive Fly ReelFor sale here is a #3 Fin Nor direct drive fly reel. 3 5 8" diameter for 7 10 wt lines. 1" spool width. Right hand retrieve. Weighs 12. 25 oz. Will hold approximately 200 yards of 30 lb. backing. Excellent++ condition. Comes with original blue Fin Nor neoprene pouch.
The spools have a vinyl washer between them for smooth operation
The full wells grip measures 6 1/4" in length
A nice Leonard 48-4 fly rod
Excellent restored condition
This should easily polish off
The fighting butt is 4 3/4" in length with soiling comparable to the grip
The rod was built in 1974 by Doug Merrick during the transition from San Francisco to Twin Bridges
The vise is completely self-contained in a handsome felt-lined Walnut box measuring 7 3/4" x 6 1/4" x 3 1/4"
It is unknown who performed the restoration though certainly a fine job
The out click can be disengaged to be silent by flipping the switch on the backplate
Marked with circular writing and is stamped "The “Perfect” Fly Reel" in the center of the winding plate
There is also a shallow dent near the bottom of the grip
