HL Leonard Model 87 Dry Fly Salmon Rod 9'6" 3/2For sale here is a pre fire H. L. Leonard Model 87 9'6" 3 2 Dry Fly Salmon rod. The rod is in excellent refinished condition. All sections are full length and straight. One tip top appears to have been replaced or at least reblued as it does not match the wear of its counterpart. Chinese red wraps with gold tipping on the ferrule wrap of one tip and black on the other (added later by the refinisher). Mildly swelled butt. Cigar grip 6 1 8" in length

and tan bag are original

and are set up for right hand wind

the rod's actual weight is 4

There is a very minor spot of oxidization on the ring near the reel foot though this can easily be polished out

Used but very good condition

Ridged brass foot with the patent date stamped on the side

Bronze colored aluminum cap and ring reel seat over a cork spacer

Complete enclosure of all mechanical components to protect against corrosion and contamination

The varnish is very good

Brown poplin rod bag with stiffener and leather pull tab

It measures 5" x 5" x 1 1/8"

A mint Hardy St George 3" reel in the highly desirable spitfire finish
