Orvis Battenkill 9' 8wt Bamboo RodFor sale here is an impregnated Orvis Battenkill 9' 2 2 8wt bamboo rod. Serial #30021 made in 1961. The rod is in excellent original condition as it was cared for very well. All sections are full length and straight. Darkly tempered cane with transparent caramel wraps. The wrap varnish, as well as the varnish over the script, is in excellent shape. The script remains clean and bold. Bright guides. U shaped hook keeper. Bright aluminum winding check.
The grip is composed of 13 corks in a western style
The slide band sits on a white cedar spacer
Left- or right- hand retrieve reversibility
Spooled with a large amount of fluorescent orange backing and a green-colored line which I'm guessing is a #9 or #10
Refinished by Sam Carlson with a testimonial letter dated March 8
and made these up over the winter
The majority of the leaded finish (and lacquer) remains
