Farlow's 94th Edition Catalogue - 1940

Farlow's 94th Edition Catalogue - 1940Rare edition right before WWII rarely seen. Not sure how to describe it but the binding is a bit detached at the center of the book as you can see in the photos. All things considered, it's in really good shape.

This was built by Cal Kinner and George Reed and inspected by Wes Jordan in 1964

moderately tempered cane with transparent caramel colored wraps with chestnut tipping at the winding check

and configured in a three-up node pattern with nice small nodes and mirrored tips

also includes extra light and heavy springs

Varnished flamed shafts have John's standard green wraps with black tipping at the ferrules and hook keeper wraps

Payne catalogs have this model listed as a 226

All sections are straight except one tip which has a very slight fishing set which can be easily corrected

It is estimated that Needham built less than 400 rods so they are somewhat rare
