Green tints on a limpid robe
graphite and floral notes are followed by a wine of great depth
and coffee
The acidity seems reasonable but on the lower side
pure and notably more sauvage nose of both red and dark wild berry and earth scents
this wine is the most fluid and changing
This terrific effort is very clearly built-to-age and I wouldn't dream of touching a bottle for at least 10 years and it should easily reward 20
Mugnier made first-rate '98s and the Amoureuses is one of the clear successes of the vintage with its higly expressive and wonderfully complex nose that has gone secondary yet remains quite fresh
This was unfortuately noticeably bretty and while it was still drinkable
