Ernest was the son of the master reelmaker William Henry Dingley and carried on the fine reelmaking tradition from the 1920s, ultimately running the shop after WWII and his father's passing. This item comes with provenance details directly from Ernest's son, Raymond Dingley, along with Raymond's signature. The box has the Wheatley diamond logo and measures 3 1 2" x 2 1

The detached original reel foot (broken) with serial number is included with the sale

6 x 9" book contains excellent information on the various rod models produced over a 45 year period and many articles written by the most famous fishermen and writers of that era
