its lively fruit and good structure promising a long life ahead

and the most promising wine of the four 1986 wines in this segment

The round and seductively textured medium weight flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the appealingly detailed

The intense and tautly muscular middle weight plus flavors are even more refined if perhaps not quite as mineral-driven while delivering superb length on the balanced but markedly austere finish where a touch of cherry pit emerges

with savoriness that’s hard to articulate

from the smallest of the parcels at five acres

Both wines boast opaque black colors

This terrific effort is very clearly built-to-age and I wouldn't dream of touching a bottle for at least 10 years and it should easily reward 20

and toasty scents

this is a seriously impressive effort that should age effortlessly
