Imperial TypewritersIn 2012 I was awarded a Leverhulme Artist in Residence Award in conjunction with the Leicester Universitys Centre for Urban History. Over 9 months I made a series of works celebrating the citys manufacturing past and the wealth of industrial buildings still standing, even if no longer used for their original purpose. As a result Leicester suddenly became a magnet for tourism in a way which was a bit of a surprise for the city… the gardens around the Cathedral have been fittingly and beautifully remodelled over recent years
