19th-Century Dutch School Pastoral Landscape With CattleThis fine mid 19th century oil on canvas depicts several animals resting within a landscape. Two shepherds are in attendance along with a young woman. The artist was a follower of Nicolaes Berchem (1620 1683) who worked during the golden age of Dutch landscape painting. Berchem was particularly adept at capturing rural views imbued with atmosphere and splendour. Artists working in this manner would often combine elements from their own natural world

The copper teapot is also rendered to perfection with a hint of darkening around the handle

which now resides in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Brussels
